Abadá uses motives from nature to symbolize the degrees. The Capoeirista has to prove himself during the classes and in the Roda. In each Batizado, new students are "baptized" (accepted into the Capoeira) and get the cords, according to their level. Usually, new students get the "cru" colored belt (off-white).

Thanks to Gato Branco and Danny for the Cords' drawings.

Children's Cords

Young children (age 14 and below) can't get the qualified student, "Aluno Graduado" cord. That's why they have their own cords, to show their level at Capoeira. Below you can see the order of cords for children until age 14, left to right.

Grand Mestre must be over 50, and to have at least 30 years experience in Capoeira.

Abadá's Grâo-Mestre is Camisa-Roxa. His brother, Camisa, is our group's Mestre.
